Windows Embedded Standard 2009
Windows Embedded Standard 2009 - The next generation of Windows XP Embedded, or XPe, is the componentized version of Microsoft Windows XP Professional. XPe is based on the same binaries as XP Pro and possesses the full Win32 API support of Windows, without the overhead of Professional. It runs existing Windows applications and device drivers off-the-shelf on devices.
XPe solutions from Thinlabs are ideal to connect to web based applications which require ActiveX, JRE, Silverlight, Microsoft .net Framework. The native Internet Explorer 7.0 is a full fledged browser supporting all popular plugin's. Use it to connect to Virtual Desktops, Terminal servers. Web applications and more ..
The XPe system partition is write protected by using the Enhanced Write Filter(EWF). Administrators have access to the EWF manager through which they can install any 32 bit windows applications and commit changes made to the system partition.

Linux Embedded
For strong supporters of open source computing, the Linux based thin clients from Thinlabs has a lot to offer.
The Linux based thin clients come with the latest Firefox browser with JRE and flash plugin's. The native X11R6 support allows to connect and run X applications centrally on unix/Linux hosts. ICA and rdesktop provide connectivity to Windows Terminal Servers.
Thinlabs Linux is very flexible and can be updated by the end user with updated components or new applications.

Windows CE 6.0
Windows CE (sometimes abbreviated WinCE) is a variation of Microsoft's Windows operating system for minimalistic computers and embedded systems. Windows CE is a distinctly different kernel, rather than a trimmed-down version of desktop Windows. It is supported on Intel x86 and compatibles, MIPS, ARM, and Hitachi SuperH processors.
WinCE based thin clients are ideal for connecting to Windows Terminal servers or legacy unix hosts. The WinCE Internet Explorer is not a full fledged browser and lacks support for popular browser plugin's.
