Frequently Asked Questions


Thinlabs Quad Core products (TL10, TL23, TL24, TL25, TL26, TL85, TL86) support Windows 10.

Thinlabs Dual Core products (TL21, TL22, TL60, TL83, TL84) do not support Windows 10.

Control Panel has been moved in the File Explorer. To access the Control Panel, either:

  • Press the Windows Icon
  • Select All apps
  • Select Windows System
  • Select Control Panel

or

  • Type Control Panel in the Search bar next to the Windows Icon
  • Select Control Panel in the Search results

To access the on-screen keyboard, either

(1):

  • Type Keyboard in the Search bar next to the Windows Icon
  • Click On-Screen Keyboard in the Search results

(2)

  • Click the Windows Icon
  • Click All Apps
  • Select Windows Ease of Access
  • Click On-Screen Keyboard

(3)

  • Click the Windows Icon
  • Click Settings
  • Select Ease of Access
  • Select Keyboard
  • Change the Turns on the On-Screen Keyboard setting to On

Previous Thinlabs systems with MS Windows operating systems (Win 8 / 8.1 / 7 / XP) were set to Shut Down when pressing the Power Button.  To adjust the Power Button settings:

  • In the Search bar, type 'Power Options'
  • Select 'Power Options' from the Search result list
  • In the left-hand menu, select 'Choose what the power buttons do'
  • Under 'Power and sleep button settings', 
    change the 'When I press the power button' option to Sleep or Shutdown (depending on preference)

For KREIOS (TL10 model) thin client box modules, connect the first monitor to the VGA port and the second monitor to either the HDMI or DVI-D port.

For all-in-one integrated thin client computers with Quadcore-based processors (TL23, TL24, TL25, TL26, TL85, TL86 models), connect the second monitor to either the VGA or HDMI port.

Models affected: TL2440, TL2640

There is no software required to calibrate the touch screen - it is self calibrating.
If the touch screen is not working properly, contact support for more information.

Connect the power cord to the POE Injector.

Connect a CAT5e / CAT6 LAN cable from a working wall network jack to the In port of the injector.

Connect another CAT5e / CAT6 LAN cable from the Out port of the POE injector to the POE In port of the computer.  The computer should automatically start.

NOTE: Save all work and close all programs first.
If using Windows Embedded Standard 7, changes will need to be committed using EWF Manager.

  • Click the Start button, right click the mouse over Computer and select Properties.
  • In Computer Name, Domain and Workgroup Settings, select Change Settings.
  • Select the Computer Name tab in the System Properties dialog box.
  • Next to 'To rename this computer...', click Change.
  • Change the Computer Name and press OK.
  • Select Member of Domain or Workgroup - enter the name and press OK.
  • Click OK at the Restart Computer dialog box.
  • Click Close to close the System Properties dialog box.
  • If using:
    • Windows 7 Professional: select 'Restart Now'.
    • Windows Embedded Standard 7:

NOTE: Save all work and close all programs first.

  • Click the Start button and select Settings.
  • Select System.
  • Select About.
  • Next to 'To rename this computer...', click Rename PC.
  • Change the PC Name and press Next.
  • Select Restart Now

  • Click the Start button and select Settings.
  • Select System.
  • Select Power & sleep.
  • Update the Screen and PC Sleep settings as required.
